I went up to Albion Basin a two weeks ago, but they told me that the peak flowers were still two weeks away. So, fast forward two weeks and I went up there again on Saturday to see if they had, in fact, peaked. Thinking sunset was still a couple hours away, I went scouting without my camera gear. Unfortunately, there was some awesome gap light happening and by the time I got back to my car to pick up my camera gear, the sun was already behind some super dense clouds so I didn't get a decent sunset. To make matters worse, by the time I did pull out my camera gear, I found out that my battery in my Nikon was dead from having left the switch in the on position. So I had to download an app to my phone to use as a light meter and hope that the film came out alright.
This shot is from yesterday, as I went back with a charged battery, hoping to do a little better than the evening before. Once again, there were no sunset colors because a storm moved in a little after I took this shot. But at least the light wasn't bad. Also, I saw six different moose between the two evenings, so I certainly can't complain.
