Another one from my summer road trip. Normally I prefer to shoot the Tetons at sunrise rather than sunset, but we got roadblocked by a bison and were forced to wait for about 10 minutes until he moved. So I got out and decided to take advantage of the wonderful rays coming over the peaks.

Honestly I could just sit there in a chair, watching that wonderful light fleet across the grassy plain while sipping a nice red wine and smoking a mellow Cuban cigar, till the light has left, the glass is empty and the tobaco mostly ash. Then savour the heady goodness of a of a well spent moment in this grand location.

I love the light in this one. Have you ever photographed up in the Sawtooths in mid/northern Idaho?

I went up to Redfish Lake in February one morning while I was up there to ski at Sun Valley. I got skunked with the light though. I'm looking forward to another shot when I go up there to mountain bike this summer.

It's really a lovely place. I haven't been up there in five or six years, has it begun to recover from the beetle blight at all?

There's a spot I recommend to anyone going up to that area: it's a natural hot springs alongside the river maybe three or four miles north of Stanley.

I finally finished looking through your gallery, you have some wonderful pieces. Do you have a website I could order a print from?

Thanks for the compliments and the advice, I'll see if I can find it next time I'm up there.

oh my gosh. I so badly wanna go there. Looks so peaceful. But there are bisons?? arent they like, huge? :O n a bit scary?

Haha, the bison are pretty tame unless you really irritate them. I think the Tetons are one of the most beautiful places on earth, you really do need to go!
