This is one of the least creative photos I've ever taken. And one of the least fun...if you've been there, you know what I mean. But if you hit the Watchman on the right night, you can definitely come away with a good shot, even if it's totally cliche.
Wow, I logged in today to find that this became a DD. A big thanks to you guys for all the positive feedback. It seems like many of you are wondering what I meant in the description above. This photo is taken in Zion National Park and is a "trophy shot" that everyone seems to want. It is super easy to get to, taken from a bridge that is about 50 feet long and every evening, photographers line up, shoulder to shoulder (especially in the fall), jostling for position. It would be a much more fun experience if it were a little harder to get to so that you had some personal space.
The river and those yellow trees draw you out of their shadow and into the wonderful warm light against the rock face. I think you under estimated your shot, Ill just agree with others and say you have captured wonderful image.
Wow, the thumbnail looked like a painting, but this is a photo? This is an amazing shot! I love the intense colors and the way the light hits the mountains. I'm sorry that it was not a fun photo to take, but it's enjoyable to look at Thank you
